Elwood is a 15/mo old GD, great dog starting to listen, almost ready to let loose of the lease. But the jumping up on us and the mouthing is getting to us. he's crated so when I get home I play as mush as possible and take for long walks (he even helped me lose 35lbs) , he's like a wound up toy that will never calm down. Even after a time out (back in his crate when he's going nutz) If he's not by my side he going  bonkers, jumping and scratching @ the door. He must be with some one.

Any suggestions would be greatly helpful

i hear ya my puppy rufus is 11 months and he is exactly how your is it does get fustrating ... i am waiting for the time he will stop ?? i turn my back when he starts to get in his mood and he jump and nips but i get torned shirts and bruises i say  off and to sit sometimes it works others time it does not i stand still and dont move and he  barks and barks and then walk away... i walk him and play fetch everyday ??  i was thinking the crate ?  but he does this alot outside in the yard more than inside ....

I'll tell you he has bitten through so many shirts I can't count that high. His aggressiveness has even given me 3 black eye's just by swatting my face. These past few days I have been holding out both palms in a stop position and with a firm voice telling him no. It seems to be working, and just lately all I have to do is put up my palms. Looks like he is turning the corner, thank god because I cant afford to go out and buy any more close.
