Yes, mine will find the largest or smallest puddle. She has not yet had a chance on the beach or lake but know she will love it. She has the webbed feet too.
Yeah Martin has webbed feet too, they look like a duck! lol. He goes swimming so much we finally bough him a water proof collar.
We want to take Zoe swimming but haven't had a chance to take her to the lake. I'm tempted to take her to the neighborhood pool late one night !! But, the hoa wouldn't approve, I'm sure.
My labradoodle LOVES the water. He even loves the rain! He sort of does a little dance when I'm walking him in a downpour.
Louie loves the rain. Sometimes he'll just go out and sit in it. He also loves, loves, loves being sprayed with the hose. He runs and jumps and tries to catch the water. But he is pretty afraid of the pool. We've encouraged him in a few times, but he's not comfortable. Maybe if we had less steep steps? He jumped in the canal once after a duck and seemed ok with it, and once we took him to a lake and he loved swimming in there! But we were afraid of alligators, so we didn't let him go far.
My doodles don't. Mikey will get into the kiddie pool but just stands there. Cooper won't even go close to it. And in the rain they bearly step off the porch to potty so they don't get as wet.
Murphy loves swimming. I usually take him to the Mandeville Lakefront and let him swim and retrieve. There are steps going in and he won't get to close to me when he brings the dummy back 'cuz he's afraid it might be time to get out. He stands on his back legs in about 5 ft of water dancing...looking for the tennis ball or dummy.
2 weeks ago Ike brought the lake to us. We were flooded in and NO GRASS plus alligators. It was an interesting 3 days.
We moved into a house with a pool last April. I wasn't sure about how Cotton would do with the water. The pool was covered, she and her sister, Abby the Boykin Spaniel, would walk on the cover and spash around playing. When we took the cover off she would get in the water but couldn't swim for beans. She wasn't yet 6 months old, so anytime she was in the back yard she had to wear a lifejacket. It turns out that we had to change the liner and redo the decking for the pool was out of commision for almost 2 months. Cotton really surprised us when the pool was refilled and just got in and started swimming like a pro. Cotton is tall enough that she can walk around the shallow end on her hind legs. She gets in and just paddles around very leisurely. She even goes up to the sides and puts her front paws up and looks at everyone. It is getting cooler and the water is certainly cooler but that doesn't stop her. She also like to crawl up in our lap if we are in there on a float. She is just too funny. We joke that we redid the pool for the dogs.
