Molly is the first female dog that I have had that needs to be groomed around the girly parts. I don't know if I can explain this right but here goes....her girly part is hairy which is trimmed when she goes to the groomer, but the hair around that specific area appears to be red. Molly does not over lick that area, but she will lick there. Is this normal or does she have a irritation or hot spot?
Thanks

Starlit is all black with some white and is BROWN ( chocolate lab brown) in her feminine areas.
Spud is mostly blonde/white/buff and he is apricot in his manly areas.
It is all good in dogs. I hear thier are some human blondes that have different color................. oh never mind.... just that one is not normal.
I have had a Bichon Frise (white dog) and Luna, both female... both have the reddish fur in the private areas. I'm about 90% sure it's because of the saliva when they clean down there.
If you have ever had a plastic dog bowl - it occasionally gets the same colour of stuff at the water line that you have to clean (scrub) out. Yoshi (the Bichon)'s bowl got like that every couple days, so I'm guessing it's the saliva.
Charlotte is the same coloring as Molly and she has the same...um...."lowlights" (well, they're not highlights!). This discussion reminded me of years ago when my then boyfriend (now husband) came to visit at my mom & dad's for the weekend, thought he'd be a dear and give our family dog a bath. Seemed he'd been giving Chester, a blond cockapoo, a bath for sometime so I check on him to find him vigorously scrubbing Chester's ears. "I just can't get them clean!" he said and I gently told him that Chester's ear were NATURALLY a darker blond - that wasn't dirt he was scrubbing. Poor guy (dog and DH), but then, hubby thought you could identify male horses because they lifted their legs on trees. Seriously.
