I saw many many things that I never thought that existed today.

Well, I was in Ohio, doing the Doodle train duty.

And while I was driving Rt 62, between Columbiana and Canton OH, guess what I saw?

A CAMEL farm!! Yes, Camels with one hump and camels with two humps were grazing grass !!

I need your help, especially people in Ohio....

What does Camel do?

Why do people raise them and have them in their farm?

Do they work like horses?

Do people ride them?

I hope people don't eat them......

I had a friend growing up whos mom bred ostriches...I could never figure out why...and then one day, she brought a huge painted egg into class, it was gorgeous...her mother used the eggs to make artwork out of! Who woulda thought :-)
I told my husband about this post. Once, on a trip, I swore I saw an Ostrich and my family still teases me about it. Now, I have proof. Thank you!!
Oh, god. there were people in my neighborhood, who had two emews!! ( I live in suburb!!!) My son came home one day and said "MOM!! The corner house has Ostriches!!" Well they were in their yard for few months, and disappeared..... We have a suspcion that they ate them.......They also had a big pink pig, little black pig.... they were all there for awhile and then they were gone....

I really have been missing a lot on DK since our new foster doodle arrived.  My first thought was why is there a post about wearing tight jeans, lol.  Then I realized it wasn't Laurie that started the discussion:) :)

Maybe it has something to do with Jungle Island Zoo.

OMG Tina I have to admit that crossed my mind right away too but decided to read on!! Too funny about Laurie you guys are a blast!
Bahahahaha!  My first though too!
LOl!!!
LOL...I didn't even think that, until you brought it up, Tina :)
At least one ranch family I know of raises camels (along with cattle) mostly as "pets" (that's my word, not theirs). They take some of them to fairs and other events for people to ride, etc. They just really like camels!
I ride my camel to work all the time, we even have designated parking areas, of course we do have to pay a little extra for poop clean up.
Wow that must be one big shovel.  I hope you wear boots.
