June Assignment

From the usual small amount of input the consensus goes to photos of scenes at different times of day or with interesting shadows. Of course, manly themes, as was suggested for father's day, can be part of that. But really 99% of us active in this group are women although more male participation is welcomed. As it happens I have an example :) I posted in the garden group about a time lapse garden camera my son had given me.

Time Lapse

Here are three photos of the same scene at opposing ends of the day including one somewhat decent exposure mid day. Good thing white flowers jump out of the dark : ) I know we can do much better than this.

It's fun to see your garden at different times of the day/night, F. It would be interesting to see 3 images of a sunflower like this. (They follow the sun, right?) Too bad I don't have a garden... or any sunflowers. I barely have a yard!

This is the view across the road from my house:

Morning 7:50 A.M.

 

Long morning shadow behind daylillies.  Sun shining dimly on fronts of barns. 

Mid Day 1:15 P.M.

Shadows on front of barns from roof overhangs.  No shadows in field.

Late day 7:15 P.M.

 

Long shadow in middle of field.  Haze from a day of almost 100 degree temperature.  Sun hitting sides of barns.

First of all, I envy your view. (We don't get to see this in Las Vegas.) Secondly, it's fun being able to see it at different times of the day!

...also, watching the cotton grow.  Will try to remember to post a picture this fall when the field is all white!  Hopefully they will not use an airplane to defoliate it this year.  When they do it flys straight at my house then goes straight up at the road which is maybe 100 feet away then makes a hard left to fly over the field beside my house!

I love the contrasts of the different times of day. The haze, shadows..it's all very interesting.

Great example and subject choice.  By seeing them all together and then going back to the photos you really can see the different times of day and almost feel the heat.   Amazing.  Great Job
