The person that USED TO PROVIDE MY CHILDCARE lost her job this afternoon.  This family adopted a two year old Min Pin named Dexter a little over a month ago.  One of their other dogs marked in the house and even marked the couch.  When they brought Dexter home he of course wanted to mark, which they considered him not being housebroke.  So instead of taking the time to train him they put him outside to live.  I found out about this two weeks ago when my DD started going there.  Since then I have asked a couple of friends about giving him a home.  Well this afternoon when I went to pick DD up Dexter wanted to go inside.  This person put her foot out to block him and Dexter peed out of fear.  She started yelling, cussing and proceeded to kick this little guy right in front of me.  The words that came out of my mouth are not even fit to share.  I told her I knew someone that would give him a home and took the little guy with me.  Now Dexter is safe in a crate while I'm waiting to hear from the Min Pin Rescue.  My DD doesn't understand and I'm not in the right frame of mind to explain it.

Thanks for listening.

Tina, a person who would treat a dog like that can't be left to look after a child.  You made the right call for sure.  People who are cruel to animals can and are cruel to people too.
Tina, you did two very good things, fireing the baby sitter and saving that little dog, as far a I am concerned anyone who would treat a dog that way is not fit to care for children. Good luck finding a new home for the little guy and finding good childcare for your daughter.
I could really start a good rant about this, but that won't help and I need you calm, lol. Good riddance to bad rubbish, never was that saying more appropriate. I hope the rescue gets back to you soon and can help poor Dexter.
I know that I would never have allowed my child to be in this home again, and I only hope I would have had the courage to take the dog on the spot just the way you did.  You did a great thing!
Great Job getting the dog out of there. Wow, I can't believe someone could be that cruel. Good Luck!!

Tina - you did the right thing.  It is such a good thing that you were there and stepped in.  I am sure some people would have not wanted to get involved and not interjected themselves in the situation.  I think if someone loses their temper like that, the next time a child makes them made, they might snap.

If she is a licensed daycare provider, I would report her.

You rock Tina!

You did the right thing for the dog and for your daughter. My blood is boiling on your behalf. I'd like to think I would have done the same thing. Good for you!  I don't understand such cruelty.

Just to let everyone know what a really amazing thing Tina did, this little Min Pin makes the 8th dog currently residing at Tina's house. She has 4 Yorkies, Apollo the Labrador, Clover the doodle, Callie the DRC foster doodle, and now Dexter the Min Pin.

Really big heart there.

True, true!
Oh, wow... I did not put two and two together......Thank you Tina!!!

As I read this, the words that came out of my mouth are not fit to print.

You did an incredible thing by taking Dexter and you daughter away from this woman!! I pray she does not have children of her own who she would take her frustrations out on next.

Karen - big heart doesn't begin to cover it!!!

OMD... that is just horrific!!  I think I might have started kicking HER!!! Can you call the police just to report her and see what the law is in this situation?  Especially since she is supposed to be a childcare provider???  Bless you for saving little Dexter!!
