Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

OMG there are two Labradoodles found this evening wandering around together lost.  One is black with grey the other is more reddish cream color.  They are such nice dogs.  I drove around our neighborhood, and the neighborhood behind us.  A guy on our street asked me if I'd lost mine because he knew I had one because he saw them loose.  I'd be going out of my mind.  The were pretty dirty as it has been raining and storming here.  Anyhow the woman said she'll put them in her garage, but she notified the Hamilton Humane Society, and the Vet around the corner.  They were not chipped nor did they have tags.  I told her to contact me if she didn't find their owner so that I could contact the Doodle Rescue.  She didn't want to give me her street number, but I got it and know where she lives and where they are, but that's it.

Some Humane Societies charge a fee for accepting relinquished dogs. :(
Well she says that they are too big for her to handle as she has bad knees.  The Humane Society didn't have any room.  She said she would put them in her garage overnigt.  I can only assume that she is trying her best.  She said she went to her vet to have them scan the dogs, and also contacted The Humane Society, but they said they were full.  The only thing I don't like is that she didn't seem to want help from me, but maybe she didn't trust me either.  Who knows!!!  She knows I have a Doodle which is why she asked me to begin with because they see me walking him all the time.  I'm the only one in the neighborhood with a Doodle as far as I know.  I do know that there is someone in the Andover neighborhood who has Doodles as I met them walking Lincoln before, but I don't know exactly which house which is why I drove around there yesterday, but I don't see any fences in that area, and it's possible they don't have a fence.  I'll let you know what I find out this evening.

OMD, in the garage in this heat? I have to assume it's not much better in your area than it is here in the Chicago suburbs, and we've been in the 90s with the humidity at 100%.

Oh I hope these Doodles find their family.  Please keep us posted.

Poor Doodles. I know this is a bit out there, but if they are tied outside the front why don't you just take them? They are not hers so it's not stealing. She'll probably think the owners found them...that way you can be sure to do right by them.  Just a thought...

poor poor doodles! i hope they find their homes soon!

I was going to say the same thing, Sherri. I guess you don't want to start a neighborhood war, but tying them up outside (when I think there were storms mentioned) seems awful.
I know!!! It's crazy.  I should have just said I'll take them when she asked me if they were my dogs.  I'll go check to see what happened tonight, and see if she won't let me take them.
I really hope the owners for these Doodles are found.   She does sound very odd that she doesnt want your help.  But really doesnt want to deal with the dogs either.
Poor doodles!!! I really hope their family finds them. I'd lose my mind if I ever lost my little Lola. Please keep us updated!

They are not mine or from my crew (or clients) however there are many in the area that train with us at First Friends K9 in Fishers.  Since you do not have them it might be nearly impossible but if they could be taken to FFK9 they might know who they belong to.  They have one of the largest doodle crew training classes.

What neighborhood were they found in?  I do know a lot of the owners in the area even when they are not mine.

@Noble Vestal Labradoodles.  They were found in the Sandpiper Lakes neighborhood near the Andover neighborhood, and that's also close to Pebblebrook.  All they had on them were choke collars.  No tags, no chips which is quite peculiar for Doodles isn't it?  I will check when I get home from work tonight to see if she had any leads (I mean if she has found the owners), but as I mentioned she doesn't seem to want to cooperate with me as much as I'd like.  I asked her to contact me again if she can't find the owners.  There is not much more I can do I'm afraid if she doesn't let me help.

Keep us posted. i hope she calls you before taking them to a shelter. We will have to all keep our eyes out for them appearing on a petfinder page.
