I apologize for the descriptions ahead of time but it's a necessary evil.
Well our little girl is having trouble pooping. On Monday morning Daisy took a bit longer to poop, and it was huge....this is very weird for her, it's usually squat and it's done....Monday evening just a little tiny poop but still hard time going. Tuesday, still taking a while but still able to perform. This morning she was not able to make it happen, she tried but no success. DH took her to back yard and played Chuck it for a while thinking it may help "loosen" things up and afterward still nothing.
She has a vet appointment scheduled for tomorrow evening...meanwhile I would like to get her some relief. I am thinking she has had to many homemade frozen yogurt treats, maybe having the same problem that I have when I eat too much cheese (again sorry for that). She loves them after play and it seems to cool her down. I thought I heard that pumpkin helps both ways with diarhea and with constipation but I need to ask before I do that just in case I am wrong.
She is still eating and drinking and playing for that matter but she has to be miserable don't ya think?
A little help please.
UPDATE: after Daisy's huge poop this morning she did not eat, we took it to work and I added a little pumpkin, still not eating...at 5 when we left for the day we walked out front as usual for her evening poop - voila, no struggle, normal size, normal consistency. We came home she walked past her chuckit, turned, nosed it, I said we can play if you want...she ran to the yard and we played Chuckit for about 15 minutes. When we came in, she ate her dinner and then laid on the deck relaxing until Daddy came home.
She is seemingly back to normal. Keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks Everyone.

Have you checked her glands? Pumpkin, green beans, add water to kibble and yogurt. IMO the added moisture and exercise helps to get things moving.
After Luna's spaying surgery she was having trouble pooping - the vet gave her an oral laxative for a few days and after that she was fine. She just needed to get things moving again and they resolved themselves.
If the pumpkin/veggies/other healthy stuff don't work, the vet may recommend something like that. Luna actually liked the taste of hers and licked it right off the dropper ;)
Ricki, it is very hot and humid here, she is not shy with the water though, I will add water to her food at dinner, I added the pumpkin to breakfast and she stuck her nose in the air...it is still sitting here untouched, she is on a food strike I think because of the stuff I put in there. Ugh I hate when she doesn't feel good.
The other thing is Mom doesn't feel well, pneumonia, every time I cough she dashes out of the room. Is Tara ever like that? I find it so strange.
LOL! Tara is okay with coughing but I saw an episode on Cesar once where a dog was terrified every time the woman of the house coughed. He would run outside with his tail tucked, climb a tree so he could jump up on their wall and then throw himself OVER the wall to escape her!!! So it could be worse!!!
Tara IS like Daisy when it comes to her food being messed with though! She doesn't like a bunch of strange and non-edible (in her opinion) items put onto her food! She will just turn up her nose and walk away!!! It is VERY frustrating when I am trying to HELP her!!
I'm like you-when Tara isn't feeling well it is pretty tough for me to think about ANYTHING else until I get her back to normal!!
I'm sorry you're sick!! That sounds just awful!! I hope you both are back to normal very soon!
Peri has this happen every once in a while...I would not worry - stop with the treats and such. Just add some water also to the food and walk, walk, walk. Peri got clogged from the cicadas a few weeks back. We found the more we walked her, the more she squeezed out and felt better soon. Sorry for THAT visual.
Oh and get better soon! That probably plays a part in her leaving the room....
