Hey guys,

Georgia is five months old and doing really well. However, in the last four days she has had three bouts of diarrhea, all other poops are solid. I have also noted very, very smelly toots - gag inducing, really. Could it be giardia? I will Google now to see the signs, I tried searching here but couldn't find a "list" of symptoms. Other than that she is very happy and healthy. She is fully vaccinated and dewormed, now on Sentinel for puppies. She has been around other dogs and despite my attempts to keep her from drinking from puddles, she does occassionally do that while we are hiking. It has been raining non-stop here so NO surfaces are dry or puddle free.

Thanks,

Nicole

I think it might be possible. Sophie had the stinkiest farts, like room-clearing stinky, and she had bouts of diarrhea mixed with intermittent normal poops. Giardia symptoms sort of come and go. It could also be something she ate, but i'd say if it continues tomorrow take her poop in for a test. That's all I know. There are other more knowledgeable people out there who might be able to help you. Make sure there is no blood in her stool. That's a big sign.
Oh I hope she's ok, Not a nice thing to have to go through.
Sounds like what Wilson had and it was Giardia, several weeks of meds and a few poop tests later it's gone.  He was happy the whole time, just extra stinky with on and off diarrhea.  I would check with the vet just to make sure!
When Murph had his giardia, he did have constant diarrhea (and it was VERY stinky).  He also got a little lethargic.  I would definitely bring in a stool sample though for your own peace of mind.  Good luck and let us know.
Giardia has a classic STINK to it. (this from working in hospital labs).  Some people who do parasitology all the time can tell from just the odor.
