yesterday was!  Long story but at one point I was at the swanky mall in Naples with my gf and Stuart (who is too young for doggy day care like Rooney and too little to be left home that long) while the SUV was at the dealership getting the windows tinted (FL heat is a killer and this special stuff keeps 90% of the heat out of the car which the dogs will enjoy on our 24 hour drive to Michigan next week).  Stuart was not enjoying riding around in the rolling puppy carrier but as his potty training is in progress I didnt want to worry about him having an accident in Nordstroms so I was making him ride.  Mind you that it is HOT - almost 100 and felt like 130, I'm lugging the carrier behind me and sweating like a pig as we stroll in and out of the stores.  By the 85th person who ran up and wanted to ooh and aah, pet and snuggle Stuart - I was worn out from telling his story.  At this point I thought he looked like he might have to potty so we run to the parking lot bushes where he gets the runny poops.  I'm trying to pick it up, clean him up, dodge cars and handle the carrier.  Sweat is now runny down my face in rivers - I would have started laughing but it was going to turn into that hysterical laugh that I can do when I am tired that would get the little men with the jacket to show up so I restrained myself.  I go back to mall and find my gf and we decided I need some lunch - day gets worse.  For the first time ever in FL - I was told that Stuart wasn't allowed in the outdoor patio area.  California Kitchen to be exact, said he could set outside the fenced patio - um NO - there is no shade there and it is HOT.  Needless to say they won't be getting any of my business.  I was so hot, mad that the car was taking longer than they said and worried about Stuart overheating that we finally just got in the loaner with the A.C. blasting and headed to the Drive Thru.  Do you ever just have one of those days?

Well done on being a caring mum, cleaning up pups in hot weather would be no easy measure.
The heat alone would have been too much for me, much less cleaning up the puppy runs!  That is why I'm no longer in FL.

Last Saturday was on of those days for me.  Callie (foster) had been doing so well with on/off leash recall in the fenced area.  I thought it wouldn't hurt to let her off leash for a game of fetch with Apollo and Clover we live in the country right, very wrong.  Callie is high energy, fetched the ball once and then realized wow look at all this space.  She started running and running and running and ran so more.  Living within a 1/4 mile of she ran down and back 5 times swimming in between.  Found a dead animal to roll in, jumped in the car and rolled around wiping the stink off on the seat.  All within 20 minutes.  Apollo and Clover sat there the whole time watching and holding tennis balls waiting for the game to continue, NOT.  Finally get Callie, car and self cleaned up.  Later in the day we go to a benefit being held for a friend.  The Callie situation must not have been enough.  Because DD decides the benefit is boring and walks 4 blocks to her friends house without telling anyone.  DD is 7 and I told her not to leave the building she could play inside.  DH told her she could go outside but she had to stay on this street.  Well he forgot to tell her right in front of the building where it had been blocked off.  DD thinks it's okay to go to friends house, she just lives down the street.  I cannot express in words how scared I was.  To make matters worse when DD got back and we go inside.  DD wins a raffle prize.

I believe this qualifies AS ONE OF THOSE DAYS!  Right there with ya, Jane.  Laugh, cry and men in white suits come to take me away.

Not only do I understand one of those days, I seem to be having one of those 'year and a half's and counting'--here are a few hightlights...move to MN for DH jobs which he loses 22 months later, still unemployed after 17 months...parents move here, Dad had cardiac blockage (he is fair now with pacemaker)...my grandma died on 1/16/11...I am suffering from severe migraines...car gets broken into and purse stolen by ring of thieves that MN police have been trying to cach for two years, now I have been subpoenaed to testify in not one but TWO trials that keep getting postponed so I never get closure...my son fell off his horse while riding a week and a half ago (he is fine, mom is not) and that same son (on Father's Day) had a accident with the my youngest son and broke his front tooth three days before he is slated to get his braces off so that he would have 'perfect teeth' like his older brother (heartbroken...both him and me!)...now we need to get his braces off and his tooth bonded in the same day...Phoebe's anal glands constantly have to be expressed so we are now trying different types of foods to see if that helps to alleviate/lessen the problem...did I mention that my DH is still out of work after 17 months and we have no money and health care is a constant worry???  Hope I made you chuckle because the mad cackle is defintely coming from me and the men in the white suits might even be a welcome reprieve for me for a little while (though I would miss my children and my doodle terribly bouncing around a rubber room is looking mighty good!)

Jane, I am LMAO!  This reminds me of when I first got Bo and I took him to the outdoor mall near my house.  It was about 90 degrees with 100% humidity.  I didn't have any kind of a carrier for him and I wanted him to walk.  Well it was Memorial Day weekend and there were thousands of people at this outlet mall and Bo decided to freeze up and not walk.  I had parked a blocks away (closest parking spot) and I had to carry his 16 pound not-so little rump back to the car.  By the time I got back to my car, I was SOAKING wet with sweat and my back was BROKEN from carrying him.  But all he had to do was look at me with those soulful eyes of his and it just melted my heart.
Whew....I wish I could give YOU ALL a "Calgon Take Me AWAY" Day. I hope y'all are old enough to know what I'm talking about:) Doodle Hugs to you all.
Oh yeah, I can relate!  Last Thursday Groucho Too had his first surgery (since he was a pup) to remove a growth near his anus.  While he was out, I asked the vet to clean his teeth, which she did willingly.  However, he had never had anesthesia and had a bad reaction which caused something called soft tissue dermatitus and he was licking everything. He started licking his butt, then his tail, then his penis, and finally his feet.  He mouth was all wet.  The site of the growth was fine and healing well, his teeth were fine, but his face, tummy, tail, inside of his mouth and his feet were terrible and smelly.  The vet said it smelled like maggots, and I had to agree.  He didn't smell like he was dying, he smelled like he was dead!  So she shaved him down and powdered the soft areas, gave him two shots and he slept through the night.  Today I bathed him and he is taking steroids for two weeks on top of the shots.  So, just removing a simple growth turned into a week-long ordeal.  Poor Groucho!  He has never been sick a day in his life.
Oh my!!! All of these "bad day" stories are making me laugh...and then feel bad for laughing!!
Bad days are necessary, they make you appreciate the good ones!!! Just remember that :-)
