I boarded Jellybean over the weekend at the vet and asked for her to be bathed before I picked her up yesterday. First I got a phone call saying that she needed her butt shaved because she is matted there. Or I could pay extra to have her brushed out there. I opted for brushing. The next phone call was later in the day saying she needed to be shaved down, although her coat on the sides is not matted at all. She has matting down at the skin on her butt and back of her legs. I said no and told the groomer I would sleep on it. Came home and found another groomer in the area who is highly recommended for doodles. Will go there tomorrow and she will do a look see. she is definetly going through a coat change, with a lot of her fur coming off in the brush when we brush her. Not sure whether to just take the coat down or try for a shorter version of what she already has.....she is nine months old and hasn't had a haircut so you know she has that shaggy puppy look! Love it, but maybe this is inevitable? Any suggestions or thoughts on the coat changes....right now her coat is long, wavy and wooly. Looks like it is coming in curlier on her back down the spine.
Okay Bonnie, this is Jellybean 1 day after her grooming. I finally charged the battery to my camera. And by the way, she could definitely use another grooming. Loves the dirt!
