Here he is before the big shave down!.....And Oliver is his name!

UPDATE: Oliver as he now being called by the shelter thanks to the Doodle Kisses gang, is now playing with his toys, greeting the shelter workers at the gate and happily wagging his tail! As of yesterday he has not defecated in his kennel and is finally getting the whole "Poop is for outside ONLY" concept!...However, he is still recovering from his respiratory infection and will not be released to me for another week...Vets orders...but he is making tremendous progress thanks to a lovely young woman named Jonnie Coe...Thank you Jonnie!

He's a lanky thing! Can't wait to see his face after the shave down! And can't wait to find out who gets him!
He is a lanky dood!...lol...He's actually 15-20 lbs under weight according to the vet...He should end up being about 70-80 lbs...A big boy!
Yes, he does look thin but he has many happy meals ahead of him. Thanks for the photo of Oliver, Jacquie.
Thank you Patty for your Dickens suggestion...You inspired Leslie and Karen to collectively come up with Oliver Twist!
Yay, I was hoping you'd pick "Oliver" for his name! And it suits him...he's adorable, I love black doodles, and he looks like he's smiling! What a miracle you've pulled off here, my friend! Bravo!
Thanks Kar for the name suggestion...It really is so perfect...No miracle on my part ...Just a few suggestions to Jonnie Coe who I happen to be so impressed with...She has called me every day with updates and progress reports and has done everything that I have requested of her.....I spoke to the Executive Director of the shelter and urged him to give that girl a raise and a promotion!
I like the name.
Janie...You are such a dear for your support...thanks...
Ann...I wish that I could take credit but really it's all because of Jonnie that he's doing so well....I simply made a few requests and she agreed with me and complied.....She's really an angel....I would actually like to do something special for her when I go to pick Oliver up....

Yes he is thin...but she is really trying to fatten him up a bit...He's on 3 substantial feedings a day....I think that the worms and intestinal infection really did a number on him.....If anyone can fatten him up it's Jonnie!....She's truly in rescue for all the right reasons and she's so knowledgeable.....I can't wait to actually meet her and the puppy....
Great news, Jacquie! I like the name Oliver, too. So appropriate. "Please sir, can I have some more." My Jack was malnourished and scraggly when he first came to me. It took about 6 months before he filled out and his coat filled in. Now, after 14 months, he is about 85 lbs and beautiful. He is finally getting his first winter coat right now. Like I said before...one by one!
As the parasite problem resolves, he will put weight back on...Kobe gained 6 pounds in the week after he completed his treatment for giardia! Just like Lynne's Jack, my Jack was terribly underweight when I got him...64 lbs. He now weighs 78, which is a little bit too much because of the prednisone, but 75 is about right for him. Oliver will thrive now, thanks to you & Jonnie. As for what you can do for her, shelter workers always need donations of goods & $$$...how about making a donation in her honor? I'll bet there's nothing she'd like more. A little bit of publicity in the local paper (human interest stuff) wouldn't hurt either.
Love to you & "O".
Yea for Oliver! I'm so happy that this boy is finally allowed to be happy :)))!
