I see so many cute names here that I just have to wonder...where they came from.

Molly is named after a very good friend of mine whom I adore.  Our lab Bear was named by his first family and we decided to keep it since he knew it was his.  Heidi was my mom's doxie who now has her forever home with us.

So if you don't mind sharing....how did you pick your puppies names?

We talked, searched and knew we wanted a Doodle for over a year (didn't find DK until Daisy was 6 months old though). During that time we also thought about names. I knew I wanted a female, we had Zach a male for 15 years and wanted a girl this time. We had many chosen but I like Daisy Doodle the best. Pretty much her name was etched in stone before we got her.

This is in direct contrast to our human daughter who we were sure was a boy (Michael)....we never even bothered talking about girls names. She went from Amber unofficially the day she was born to Nicole a short moment later, cause DH did not like it Amber. ha ha

Daisy Doodle is a superb name :)

Have been to Scotland and Ireland twice...have some Irish in me from WAY WAY long ago.  Have loved Celtic/Gaelic crosses, symbols, etc.  We knew we wanted a Gaelic/Irish name (our previous dog was Ceilidh - pronounced Kay-Lee).  Once we saw the litter we were going to get our little girl from (red), we started scouring old Irish girl baby names.  We wanted a very uncommon name and one that had a special meaning to it.  My DH kept emailing me names (he was downstairs at his computer and I was upstairs at mine, LOL).  Once I had a list of 6 or so we liked, we started narrowing it down.  One thing that came to mind was we wanted something that you could read and pronounce (no one could get Ceilidh....Seal-i-dah...LOL).  So, Rua was choosen.  It means red-haired!  Absolutely perfect name for her...couldn't think of her being named anything else.  She does have a few nicknames...Rue, Rue-Rue, Boo, Boo-Boo, Princess Rua, Little Miss Rua, and of course, KangaRua!

Haahaa..love the KangaRua. Our pups all have several nicknames as well. Amazes me that they know them all. Rua is a beautiful name.
When I saw Rua for first time here on DK, I thought: rua, ruge, rojo, red. Rua probably means "red".  And I like it. Beautiful name!
Two words....Irish Beer.  Actually Murph already had his name when we adopted him, but it just "fit".
LOL DH can absolutely relate with those names.
Another drink here. :)
Hattie does fit your precious pup. Love the story behind the name.
Awesome Sandy!

Dylan was chosen by my hubbie. It was only about the second or third suggestion but we both loved it straight away. He was very nearly Boris but I had a huge crush on Boris Becker the tennis player as a teen so couldn't really have that.

Lucy was chosen by my step children. And that seems to fit perfectly too. She goes from being Little Lucy, Lucy-Lu to LUCIFER!!!!

Hilarious!!! I love all the nicknames for the pups.
