Chaucer got a different sort of trim at the groomers this time

I was feeling brave when I dropped off Chaucer for his groom.  I really love my groomer and trust her judgement and she likes to have fun with dog hair and try new things.  So, I told her "Do whatever you want! and call me when he's done".  She knows i'm not really picky and if I don't like it it's just hair and grows back!

 

Anyway, I loved it!  We stopped into Petsmart after to pick up a few things and of course Chaucer always picks out a stuffie everytime we go in (he literally picks one up and carries it until we get to the checkout).  Not one person could believe he was a Goldendoodle.  One person thought maybe a labradoodle but most thought some sort of terrier mix and another lady thought he was a giant schnauzer.

 

Hope you enjoy the pics!  I think this will be our new go-to "summer" clip.  I have a pool in the backyard and Chaucer likes to lay on the steps that lead into the pool...so hopefully this clip will be easier for me to maintain since he gets wet on a daily basis.  They also have a pool at the dog-daycare he goes to 3 times a week...so it's a better trim for us.

I love everything except personally I think he may have needed just a little tiny bit of poof on his head so others realize he is a doodle....your groomer does a fantastic job making everything so even.

I think he looks fabulous! Lachlan just glanced at the computer, then at the grooming table (which is currently in my office), then ran out of the room. No clue why. *innocent whistle*

I've been holding off on really trimming Lach down while I wait to see what his big-boy coat will look like, but toying with various ideas and wondering what different cuts might look like on him. That look is fantastic on Chaucer, which just bumped it to the top of my list.

Thanks guys!  I think he looks great too..I also like that it's a manly-looking cut on him.  It makes him really look like a boy.  We've already ruined our nice haircut by going swimming...doesn't take long with him!
