I've had a week off of work with my dear Doodle Brinkley. Today is my last day off-- I've don a lot of home improvements the last week but Brinkley has had LOTS of mommy park, beach and cuddle time also.  This morning we've already gone for a 1.5 mile walk and played with a stick until he got hot and had to go inside.  I'm trying to get the house organized before I got back to work.  He must be bored because he's ringing the darn bell on the door over and over over again!  He doesn't need to go outside! He's coupling the bell ringing with a a high pitched whine-- you know the really annoying one (I think he knows the pitch is like nails on a chalkboard!)

I love him to pieces and it's a good thing because he's driving me nuts this morning!

I don't know how they do it, but somehow doodles always know when something's "up".  Brinkley must know his mommy's going back to work, so he's trying to get in as much mommy time as he can today...
Ahhhhh!  I'm going to run out of the house screaming!! ha ha!

totally agree!  you dude must be sensing your anxiety about going back to work - gonna suck the life out of you today!

Do you have an antler or bone saved back that he hasn't chewed on for a while? Maybe.....
Can you just leave the back door open so he can go in and out?  (assuming you have a fenced yard, don't recall if you do).  Perhaps you can put him in a down stay next to you and then he can't keep running to the door.  Just my first thoughts on possible solutions when he's got tons of energy and you're busy.  Either that or I'd crate him if he was really driving me up the wall.
He's calmed down.  This time next month we will have a fenced yard.  We are in the beginning stages of putting one in.  I can't wait!!
For what it's worth, Boca is kind of a busy body and has a hard time just laying down and chilling quite often.  At night she just wants to go outside no matter how many times we let her out it's not enough.  When I just can't stand it anymore, I just have to put a leash on her and hang on to the handle and she'll plop herself down...not a commanded 'down' but just realizes she has no choice but to relax and she relaxes VERY well...without it she just can't stop pacing and ringing the bell.

Just forget the house, go play with the doodle, it`s way more fun and life is short.

The doodle is the reason my house is like it is! Ha ha!  He wins 99.5 percent of the time but laundry and cleaning are a must today because in two weeks I'm having thirty people at my house for my husband's 30th birthday.  This house MUST get cleaned!
I totally agree!!!!
My neighbors just got home so Brinkley played with their two dogs! Thank goodness for neighbors that have dogs that get along with my doodle!

Spud is 2.5 and is very active all day.  He thinks he needs to keep us busy!  Ha

Maybe a good chew bone?  It works for awhile
