No Birthdays found Today... WHAT?!???

I've seen that "No Birthdays found Today" message too many times. And I KNOW that we are missing many peoples birthdays. With the number of members we have... there should average about 6 birthdays EVERY DAY!

So this is my new campaign... add your birthday info to your profile! You DO have to uncheck the box so it will display your age... but we won't taunt you because you are too young... OR too old. And if you don't like your age, LIE about it! :-) And we'd all love to send you our best wishes when your birthday rolls around.

How to do it? It's easy. Click on "Settings" under your name in the Sign In box (top right of every page). The fifth line down is "Birthday". You know what to do. Uncheck the box that says "Don't Display My Age". You are done! :-)

Looking forward to giving birthday wishes to 6 people tomorrow...

If anyone feels uncomfortable adding the year of their birth, they could always (gasp!) LIE! If you do... make it a whopper so we won't really think you are 108.

I would rather publish my doodles' birthdays than my own, since this site is all about the dogs, but there is no way to have more than one b'day in my profile... so I chose not to publish any of them in order not to play favorites!

You are always welcome to announce your dogs birthdays! Everyone can do that too. But since very few people want to announce their own birthday for fear of looking a little too self-involved... we take care of that for you. And while this is IS about our common interest in doodles, a lot of us have become friends and like to wish each other well. And we humans still do all the typing. ;-)

Why don't you allow for multiple birthdays per member, and that should solve the problems I'd think ;)

Since I'm over 40, I really don't care about my birthday anymore, but I do care about my dogs and my kids birthdays.

It's not that I don't allow it...it's that I don't have a way to do it with the way the website is programed right now this is what we are limited to. Again FEEL FREE to announce your doodles' birthdays when they come around =)

The idea of the dob accidentally being splashed all over DK is a little un-nerving. Plus I'm a little concerned about security. There's an awful lot of personal information about us out there....Having said that, I have included my birthday (Nov 29), and am thinking of announcing a PO number so that people can send gifts and cards on my big day. Here's my wish list: Martigale collars and a waterproof jump-suit for Finny, and edibles for me please. Thank-you in advance.

You HAVE spell check! Firefox has it automatically...try it...spell something WRONG on purpose like worng insted of wrong and see the red underline appear under your word as you type.

Why? I think we should celebrate our doodle's birthdays instead, see my reply to Adina earlier in this thread. I honestly have no desire to publish my own birthday (no, I'm not THAT old, just slightly over 40 haha).
