Holy moly......

Little background here.  Jim and I are off and on empty nesters.  Our son is 23 so it has been years since we have had to get up at the crack of dawn and chase around a toddler.

All of our pets are seniors (2 cats) so they are pretty set in their ways.  Sleep the majority of the time...

Then here comes Bailey.  We are up when the sun comes up,.  No lounging on the couch for me in the AM til I decide when I want to get up. No playing on the computer til ...whenever....

This little girl is a ball of endless energy, we are playing ball at dawn, she is rolling around the wet grass trying to eat everything in site...getting into trouble... trouble.... trouble....LOL

Just needed to vent....

AND right now the only way I can even type this is she is in a play area that is blocked off

Gotta go..she is in trouble again LOL

LOL, I feel ya! That's what Lachlan did to me! I ended up clearing my home-office floor and putting up a baby gate, effectively turning my office into his play area so I could keep an eye on him and actually sit for entire minutes at a time. *grin* Hang in there; this stage will pass. Eventually.
I'm sure it seems overwhelming now.  I remember those days.  However, enjoy them because they fly by.  My DH and I were just talking last night about how much Remington has slowed down (he's only two)!  We miss the energy he had as a puppy.  And even though he is still very energetic even now I can't help but feel it pull at my heart strings to know that he is aging before my eyes.  The thought of the day we are without him in our family is too much for me to even bear. GOOD LUCK with your little one :)

Although I'm not an empty nester (I have a 7 year old), I can feel your pain.  My doodle, Dempsey is a total PITA (Pain in the ...) in the morning.  No computer time for me either but now I walk him for about 50 minutes at around 7:30 every morning.  Works like a charm!  He sleeps until lunch!!! And hey maybe I'll loose some weight!  I can only hope....

I can't wait to walk her...Since she is not fully vaccinated we can't venture out quite yet. Playing in the backyard is all we can get for now....

She's napping right now....sshhhhh baby's sleeping LOL!

too funny.. I will be joining this madness in a couple of wks.
aren't they scaring you?  they are scaring me....what am I doing?  am I told old for this?  naw...this is gonna keep me young and hopefully help me lose some weight too!
I did the same thing! Our older dog is four and slept until 9:30 in the morning, then along came Curly ... No more reading, knitting, going out to dinner-she hates her crate, and the older dog is not thrilled with her. What did I do? Our last child is 24 out of the house, teaching and going for his masters... What was I thinking???
Peri was like that too.  She still wakes up at 6ish (when sun comes up), but we take her out quickly and then she comes back to bed if we sleep any longer.  She is 2 1/2.
This post made me smile. You are taking it so well! They are a handful as puppies, but it will get easier. Promise.
Mhm....mhm....mhm...      In my opinion.....     One word... "WELCOME"!           LOL

Yep, a puppy is about the same as a baby, except you can stick them outside for a couple of hours and expect them to entertain themselves.  You'll get used to it again.  Enjoy, this time also passes too quickly.
