I actually loved Country Strong, but I may have been swayed by the young actor (Garrett Hedlund, maybe??) in the lead. I really loved him and I give him 5 Doodles.

I liked it too Laurie.....and that young actor (who I had never seen before, but hope to see again) would look great in spandex.

Jane, I told my DD I was going to marry him and that during the movie, I looked over to see my DH eating his popcorn like he was possessed and not always getting it all into his mouth, and I just shook my head and cried a little....LOL!! I refuse to share popcorn with him any more, because he eats it so fast!!

Watched this last night - The Boy in the Stripped Pajamas - 4 Doodles & a box of tissues.

When his family moves from their home in Berlin to a strange new house in Poland, young Bruno (Asa Butterfield) befriends Shmuel (Jack Scanlon), a boy who lives on the other side of the fence, where everyone seems to be wearing striped pajamas. Unaware of Shmuel's fate as a Jewish prisoner or the role his own Nazi father plays in his imprisonment, Bruno embarks on a dangerous journey inside the camp's walls.

I actually watched the previews of another dvd & saw it then. It was probably a indie film with limited distribution. It's from 2008 - worth the watch but again have tissues ready.  It was an interesting point of view regarding the holocaust.
