For a long time now we keep finding these bugs in our house. We don't know where they are coming from or what to do about them. We are open to all solutions.  I tried to take a lot of pictures to help in the identification process.  Just today, I saw one on my Living room chair:

Then I found one on the living room carpet. This one was a little bit less cooperative and didn't seem to want her picture taken:

I was totally grossed out when I found two of them on a guest bed:

And I certainly was not pleased to find this on my new couch. Yes, under all those covers is a new couch:

Does anyone know what these bugs are called? Are these the Doodlebugs or Lovebugs I keep hearing about?

Yep....a good combination!
The chocolate one is a Bug on a Rug, Genus Doodle, Species Fudge.  It appears in several pictures but the rug gives it away. The white one is the Settee Doodle, Genus Doodle, Species Vern. The giveaway here is it's always in the way, especially if someone, can you hear me mom?, wants to sit or lie down. These two species are related. If you remove the fence from your property, they may go away on their own. Since they are rather attractive, I hope you decide to live with them.
Thanks, F, for another good laugh. Gosh, my DH did a lot of work on that fence, so I had better leave it up. Uh oh, my one bug just got up on the bed with me :)
Not Bed Bugs too!! I heard those are the worst.
This one is a big one (90 pounds) too....almost as big as Murphy.
They are bed bugs!!!!
Now that's good, F.
Your dogs always look so nice and groomed.
Actually, they were supposed to go to the groomer's today and we got all they way down there and she had to cancel. She had trouble with a goat (yes, a goat) and had to take it to the vet. Note to self: take phone off mute and check messages BEFORE leaving the house. They both need a good once over, as I am terrible about brushing them. Thank you for the compliment :)
That is my problem for sure.  Spud's groomer has had a sick goat for 2 years now. He is a mess.  I don't brush either. Still waiting on the goat to get well.
Haha.
I hate when a good groomer has a sick goat :)
