GREAT news :)  We have found a new groomer and I am throughly impressed by them.  I loved Karen back at The Barkley Hotel and Spa, but I am thinking I like Bear's new groomer a little more :)

Bear is now going to Doggie Go-Go........since having Bear for 3 years now, I have read about the Doodle's hair through here and have learned a lot. I have tried several times to brush him, but I guess I really did not know what I was doing because he would never let me do it.

When I went to pick him up from his new groomers, they took the time to talk to me about how to do things and I bought a brush and comb from them.  I started that night brushing him and he ACTUALLY let me :)

Since then.....he actually comes to me wanting to be brushed :)  The kids have also joined in on the brushing and it is so funny to see Bear's face as they are brushing him :)  He still has issues with us brushing his legs, especially his front ones.

I am so glad someone actually sat down to show me how to brush him and I am hoping we will be able to keep him as happy has he has been since the beginning of the brushing :)

More info requested - please share!!  What exactly did they tell you to do?  How is it different from what you had been doing?  What brushes and combs did you buy???

Please tell all!

well first off......he was shaved down to start over again :)  I purchased the brush and comb from the groomer.....I honestly do not know the name brand, but I will attach pictures of them.

She told me to start out with the brush and to brush both ways (the way the hair is going and opposite).  She said to use the comb as a check over to make sure all matts are gone.  She did not tell me how many times to brush him, but the kids and I make it a habit to do it daily.

She said his legs are sensitive, so he did not let me do them to just to play with his paws by touching them and praising him constantly.  But honesty, since we have started brushing him he is so much happier.

It really does not take much, but you have to make sure to do it with lots of praise while you are brushing them.  I hope this helps?  I have attached pictures too :) Ok, they did not come up, but I will post them as soon as they do :)

What kind of coat does he have.I'd love pictures of both bear and the brush? I would love it if my two asked to be brushed, well, most of the time I would.
