These little guys along with 100+ of their "siblings" were released last night. The one on the left is a Green and on the right is a Loggerhead. Both nest are what we call emergency digs meaning they had started to hatch but were being predated by in this case fire ants. Since there were so many our coordinator decided to wait until evening to release. She called me yesterday to let me know since the Green nest was one that DH and I found. We've been volunteering with the sea turtle program for over 10 years and i never get tired of seeing these little hatchlings. I just had to share with my friends on DK. These little guys are very special to me.

Oh how wonderful.  Would love to be there and see it happen.  Thanks for sharing.  Love it.
I LOVE sea turtles, I think they are amazing creatures! I was so excited to see your photos - thank you for sharing! We go to the Outer Banks every year & 2 yrs ago there was a nest they had caution tape around, I was hoping that we would get to catch a glimpse, but no such luck!
Wow, how neat!  Thanks for volunteering to help these little guys.
OMG! So tiny and sweet...this is such a great project~ I worked for an Aquarium in Bermuda and dealt with some of the large green sea turtles...so cool.
