Thanks Dori, Sheba is very conscious of us and does not run or bump into us. Duke on the other hand you really do have to watch when he is running. He has knocked down Ann more than once and sent me down before too. Ann caught on video one time Duke clipped my knee and send me down. Fortunately I was running on the beach so when I hit the sand it did not hurt. Mike
Boy, I gotta say...your two dogs have the best life! You have so much fun with them. They have so many places to play and romp it seems. All of your photos have amazing scenery and backgrounds. I do know that you travel with them but where I live I could never find the places you find for your "kids". I am jealous!!! Gorgeous shot, as always!
Thanks Nancie, Ann and I have enjoyed traveling with Sheba and Duke and have been fortunate to be able to take the trips we have. This summer we were able to travel out West as far as Las Vegas and meet GBK and Linda and Toby and some of the other Vegas DK'ers. It is always neat to meet the people and doodles that are on DK. When we were in Colorado it is like a Doggie Disney World. Sheba and Duke love Colorado. Many of the areas are very dog friendly and when on some of the trails there would be many others on the trial with their dogs. Colorado has some beautiful scenery. We put over 6,300 miles the Honda Pilot on this trip so we saw many really neat areas out West. We were in Las Vegas, Utah, Page AZ and parts of Colorado. The photo of Sheba in the stream running is from the Crested Butte area of Colorado. Mike
We were at Lake Powell many years ago and I didn't love it. It didn't help that it was very hot and the sand was blowing all over, although it was beautiful. Colorado is gorgeous and we certainly loved other parts of the southwest. When my kids were young we did lots of the national parks and that area has several fairly close to one another.
We stayed in Page AZ for 3 nights and Lake Powell is neat but the surrounding area is a mixture of desert and some badlands. The desert is very harsh, hot and dry. We took some walks in the area and if you get off the trail there were these burr like things that would almost poke through my flip flops. Also Ann went to touch a green plant and it poked here very sharp end. Many scenic things in the area to see but a harsh land. I agree that Colorado is gorgeous plus in the summer when you go up in the mountains very mild 60's and 70's. We really enjoyed Colorado. From the Page area we went and saw Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend. We took a couple hour drive to see Monument Valley and one day drove down to Lee's Ferry where you are down at the Colorado River where the raft trips take off. Mike
Nice shot. None of the discussions or assignments actually close so this is fine. You can post the photo directly in discussions by clicking on the 2nd from the left logo above the post.
Unfortunately Butz has stayed slightly hydrophobic... We have tried lakes, pool, the sea, sticks, ball, other dogs, going into the water ourselves etc. Food thrown into the water works to a certain extent but with him there is no real joy to go into the water. Well, maybe it comes still...
