We get our new puppy in 3 days and I have already signed her up for puppy classes through Petsmart. I live in Maryland (Baltimore County) and I was wondering who others recommend for obedience classes.

Definitely NOT Petsmart~ sorry but they are the pits. You are better off finding a class that is large and interactive where you move, listen and train all at the same time. Larger classes offer more distraction which help proof your dog when out in the real world. In the Petsmart classes you sit and listen and do a few exercises.

i felt the same way about petsmart, however, each petsmart is different as they have different instructors and different classes. i talked to graduates from our local petsmart puppy classes from a DC doodle community who had AMAZING things to say about their petsmart classes. also, everyone suggested that i go and sit in on a class before we get the puppy so we can get a feel for it...i think this is pretty good advice for you as well! good luck!
I live in Annapolis, MD and found a wonderful trainer in Crownsville. Hopefully, this won't be too far for you to come. Barney and I are halfway thru our first class.
