Just read a discussion regarding hiding bones. Would like to know which bones from the butcher are considered safe to give the dogs. Thanks for the information.

Hello, I only give Kali smoked bones because they don't splinter. We are lucky enough to have a butcher that smokes them on site without any preservatives. I know people give raw bones to dogs but I'm not sure what types are safe. Make sure you pick a bone that is large enough that your dog cannot swallow it whole and always supervise your dog while it has a bone.
Raw or raw frozen marrow bones. But outside only! They absolutely love them. And when they are empty, I put them through the dishwasher and fill them with dogfood and freeze that. Raw bones don't splinter and last forver.
Don't the dried bones chip and splinter. Samantha is a graduate student when it comes to chewing - she actually tore apart her kong. I gave her a raw marrow bone app 6" long and when she was done with it, we threw it away because I was afraid of her breaking off a piece. Is my thinking wrong?
