I've just returned from a two week vacation and picked Maggie up from my sister's house where she spent the past two weeks playing with her half sister Rosie.  KoKo is still away at puppy boot camp where she is training.  So, Maggie is just lost without her doodlemates and seems so sad and lonely.  I'm not sure just when KoKo will be home, perhaps this weekend, and I feel so bad for Maggie,  She doesn't know what to do with herself.

My sister said the same thing is happening at her house.  Rosie is lost without her playmate.  I think this says a lot for having two doodles in your home.  When I got KoKo it was for this very reason.  I felt Maggie needed a playmate and although I sometimes think I was nuts for doing it, seeing how Maggie is right now shows I was right in getting KoKo.

I have 2 doodles and they are always looking for each other.  I worry about what will happen when my younger doodle Dolly goes to the breeder for 5 weeks to have puppies.  I think my other dood will be lost.  I will have to make lots of trips to the dog park.
or you could get a 3rd doodle :)
I'd be the crazy lady with 3 or 4 or more!  I have to stop looking at all the rescues of the front page.....But 3 WOULD solve that problem....NO stop,  I'm logging off now before I do anything stupid.
Don't you wish these people would stop corrupting you??????

I think these doods are ultra sensitive, loving their pack intensely.  My one doodle (can't talk hubby into another yet) gets depresses when WE leave her for too long.  I thought one day that I would have my friend, Karen, come in while we were gone to out of town funeral.  Karen came in twice and played w/ Sheila, let her out, fed her again, etc.  She told me that Sheila would hardly play, only zoomed once around the yard and then went right back to sitting in the window, waiting for us. Wow.  Then a breeder friend of mine said one of her dogs that she had had for awhile got really depressed going to his new family for a time, now is ok.  These guys are sooo smart I think that they really consider their "pack" whether human or dog, as precious to them.  Next time I think I'll do daycare/board.  I got her used to that at a young age and she really has fun there.

And I can TOTALLY SEE that if they have HAD a playmate, it would be devastating for them to lose one.  OY.  What are we mothers to do?????  Wish we could print off stuff.  I'd love hubby to read this.

Poor baby-I hope they get back soon, as for the other house, I think they need another doodle. You could spoil her to death with one on one time!!
I think doodles come in all varieties, because Vern would be lost without Fudge, but sometimes I let Vern go by himself to the dog sitter's and Fudge seems to be in dog heaven with just me. Vern is more active than Fudge, so I think Fudge likes to catch up on her beauty rest. She is always happy to see Vern when he comes home. Hope all your doodles are home soon and every one cheers up :)
Poor Maggie:(  Rosey & Bandit would be lost without each other too!
