Just finished The Help, really enjoyed it, now I want to see the movie. Started another book last night, Beach House, seems to be interesting, so far. Guess  I'll get a lot of reading done with this hurricane headed our way. Stay safe, those of you on the east coast.

I just finished reading James Patterson's POSTCARD KILLERS.  Just an easy who done it that goes great with laying by the pool.  The other book that I have been reading but not finished is EMPIRE OF THE SUMMER MOON by S.C. Gwynne.  It traces the rise and fall of the Comanches, the most powerful of Indian tribes.  Sort of gruesome but so interesting.  Serious reading with lots of facts and dates.

I read Postcard Killers while on vacation....it was one of those books you can read in a day.
Well, I am back to Dean Koontz books.  I thought I had read them all, but this one (copyrighted 1988) was new to me and a little different from his usual style.  The name is LIGHTNING and has a connection to Nazi Germany 1944.  My kind of reading!
Ooooh! That's one of my FAVORITE Dean Koontz books!
I am awaiting the 9/27 release of "the Affair" a Jack Reacher novel by Lee Child. Anyone else who reads this series? I loved it initially but the last couple were not so great. We'll see. It ticks me off that the ebook costs almost as much as the hard cover and I suspect the libraries already have wait lists.
I got it on my iPad and have finished reading it.  It is not my kind of mystery, and I guess I would say it was a "man's book".  Too much violence for me.  It kept my interest, but I don't think I would recommend it.
I read it and didn't like it at all.  It is too much of a "man" book for me.  The ebooks are expensive, but you can just throw it out after you have finished it.
I read the book and it is typical Jack Reacher, which I like. It is rather violent.
ADORE the Reacher series.  We just discovered him this past spring so we have read lots of Reacher novels this past summer playing catch-up.  We just found 2 more in a used book store yesterday that we hadn't read.
I've read them all I think. What I love is his simple life style of toothbrush and the clothes on his back. I also love when he gets technical about trajectories of bullets, or characteristics of terrorists. The stories are far fetched and the last couple, before this one were not my favorites.
My DH also loves his simple life style. I, on the other hand, wonder why he would bother to take a shower if he just puts his stinky clothes back on and wish he would at least by a 3-pack of underwear and t-shirts! :-}
