Just went to see Crazy, Stupid Love and it was crazy, stupid great!!! I give this movie 5 Doodles and would see it again.

I am a pretty easy reviewer. I gave The Help 5 Doodles too, but my DH and I are going back to see Crazy, Stupid Love again on Saturday!

Being an old toughie I think The Help deserves 4 doodles. I saw it today and really enjoyed it.

What made you subtract one doodle? I have seen it twice and just re-read the book and finished this morning. I forgot a lot of what I had read months ago and enjoyed it the second time around even better. Now, I need another good book to read.

I didn't subtract one doodle, I added 4 : ) To me 5 is reserved for an outstanding movie so good you can't think of anything to improve it, thought provoking in a new way etc. I guess parts of this, and the book is the reason were almost slapsticky , the commodes for instance. People have objected, and I agree that the whole era was far worse than depicted, too. Not that what was depicted wasn't bad enough. The acting was great though. At times I lost some of the dialog, a blog for another day, maybe.

All good points. It is hard to cover a whole era in two hours, but I thought they did a good job of telling the basic points of the book. I must be an easy critic. I am also getting to the age where I need them to start captioning the movies. I have a very hard time with the background music overpowering the dialog and I had to ask my DH a couple of times what was said. His ears are as bad as mine. Again, a blog for another day..LOL!
What movie would you give 5 stars too? I have so many....My Dog Skip, Prince of Tides....movies I will never forget and can see over and over.

My DD and I went to see One Day today with Anne Hathaway. We are only giving it two Doodles. Much preferred The Help and Crazy, Stupid, Love.

We watched "The Conspirator" on Friday night. About the Abraham Lincoln assination and a lawyer that defends a woman during the trials. I actually really liked it and give it 4 Doodles.
Last night we watched "The Source Code". It kept our attention, though the ending left me wondering about what happened. Still, I would give it 3.5 Doodles.
