I have been around dogs for a very long time.My father when he retired decided he was going to show dogs....that was in 1992....he has Soft Coated Wheaton Terriers.I knew from the wheatons it was best to start young and then their stress level with grooming is low. I also umbilical leash trained him for 4 weeks after I took him home....best thing I ever did....it was difficult at the time but worth the results now.
Obviously the wheaton is not my choice of pet(no offense to any wheaton owners)....my Dad's nose was a little out of joint when I purchased my goldendoodle but he got over it pretty quick and now really enjoys when Tucker comes to visit Papa....lol
I just looked at your pics....Lilly is the cutest little thing!! What an adorable puppy:)
It is not hard to do....its a good time to start. If you leave their nails grow too long the vein inside the nail grows long too so when they need a good cut when they get" too too" long it gets more difficult to avoid causing the nail to bleed. The more you trim them the more the vein receeds.
If you are nervous a good groomer would show you how to give them a trim and some vets do them too(at least here in Canada they do)
