After trying various kibbles and following many of the discussions about kibbles and their ratings, I decided to try Costco's Kirkland. It was rated highly and its cost was extremely reasonable. So, we switched our dogs over. We tried both the lamb and the chicken. Our dogs have all developed gas, one has bad breath, and one continues to have looser stools. We are on our 4th bag so it isn't like we are still transitioning. We used the old Nutro for 10 years thinking it was a good food. We have tried Dick Van Patten's and several others but they haven't been quite right either. Now that Ned is on adult food, we are trying to find one that will work for all three dogs. In desperation, we might put our old guy back on his Nutro Lamb and Rice and keep the other two on the Kirkland or something else, but I am open to suggestions. In this economy and with 3 dogs, cost needs to be factored into our decision.

I've had lots of problems with loose stools with Monty. I went the raw route which was great, but expensive and time consuming. In fact, it wasn't practical for mornings.

Now, I've had good success with Taste of the Wild Bison and I also tried a small bag of TOTW Wild Foul. I do add a couple of nuggets of raw food though and that really seems to help with the 'end' result.

I do find that TOTW produces a lot of stool though if not careful or if over-fed. I've had success also with Great Life and Instinct kibbles, but again, always with a couple of small nuggets mixed in. I supplement/replace some meals with duck necks or chicken backs also. The difference in breath and teeth when Monty's regularly crunching up bones is significant.

It would be nice if there was one solution, but I doubt it would be the healthiest choice. As to the gas - that's just not going to be livable with. Clearing the room? LOL, sorry, shouldn't laugh, but I can just imagine.

Why are these old discussions showing up as new?  I started reading this and then noticed that Natura foods were recommended and I thought something had changed, like they bought the company back or something!!!
lol - didn't notice. I received emails from this food group and just started reading and responded. Just wasted 5 minutes of my life I guess. I'll be more careful to check the dates from now on.
me too!  I was thinking of responding, and then I read some responses, and thought I was losing my mind when I knew some of the recommended foods in this discussion are no longer recommended.

I don't know why people are searching through old discussions. I guess I should close some of them.

Nancy hasn't fed Kirkland for at least a year now. I guess I'll close this one, lol.
