Puppy of the Month?

I had an idea for a fun discussion point for us here at Puppy Madness. Over in the Photography thread, they have a monthly theme and a very active discussion about that theme. I thought it would be a fun idea to have a take on that and I had a few ideas for what we could do.

 

1) A puppy of the month - Each month we could have a discussion thread where we each post a photo and/or a story about our doodle. We could have a friendly competition (popular vote?) and pick a "doodle of the month" that could be the mascott for the following month. We could have a travelling trophy, or just a "virtual honor".

 

2) Discussion of the month - Pick a topic that is relevant to us puppies, and everyone can post comments/suggestions/research/experience with that topic to build up a wealth of info about different issues (neutering/training/etc).

 

3) Goal of the month - We could pick a goal or something where we work on training a specific behavior or socialization or something together? Take photos and share experiences?

 

What do you think? Any other suggestions for fun ways to interact on a month by month basis?

Do you know if it's possible to 'sticky' threads in the forums here? We could have a couple of threads dedicated to 'typical' puppy issues for future folks. Housebreaking/crate-training, mouthing/puppy behavior, etc. I know this forum was basically what kept me from totally screwing up my dog (probably not, but it definitely kept me sane). It would be great to have some resources here.

I totally agree, Adina made me an admin, so I have the ability to do that now. Maybe you could give me some suggestions for which threads you thought were particularly helpful?
