Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
As per my blog post published last night (http://www.doodlekisses.com/profiles/blogs/welcome-home-winston), I've brough home a new doodle. He's 5 years old and He's sweet as can be, oh so affectionate and gentle. His name is Winston. I like the name, but i don't love it. I was thinking I might give him a new one to signify his fresh start. I sort of feel like the old name carries the baggage of his old life of neglect with it. It would be nice to give him a new name to signify his new life of love and happiness. However, I'm worried a new name will confuse him and will add more stress during this time of transition. He's already quite sad about what happened to him.
What do you guys think? New name or keep the old name? If new name, any thoughts or suggestions?
err, please ignore the mess in the background!!

I think it is fine to change names. My dogs have lots of nick names and anyone could be their call name if I wanted. But then I'm very fond of the name Winston , plus there are less Winston's out there in the dog world it would seem. I haven't run into one yet. Only talked to people who have had a Winston in the past. sorry couldn't seem to paste Winston's picture into the reply
Good luck you will have fun finding the right name
Awe, thanks Nancy. I've tried a few other names and it doesn't seem to work, so i think Winston it is. DK has spoken! and so have all the people I've met while out and about walking him in the past couple days.
I'm calling him Winnie a lot, and comes with a smile so I think that's his nick name. Sophie-Bear and Winnie-Pooh :) (and her royal highness Princess Penelope the Kitty of course).
