Any thoughts on when to transition from puppy food to adult food? Trooper is 14 months old and on large breed puppy food. Not sure if we should be transitioning to adult.

I was in the same situation with Daisy, the bag said to feed until 2 years old but a lot of people on DK and my Vet said I should have transitioned at 1 year.

She was also 14 months. She did fine, we went from Orijen Puppy to Adult and shortly there after switched to Acana.

They can be transitioned to adult formulas when they have completed their skeletal growth, which for standard doodles is usually between 8 and 12 months. I would switch now, the puppy formulas are usually designed to support growth, contain more fat, and are more calorie dense.
We did it at 9 months old as per our vet's recommendation.

Rua is 14 months and is on a mix of 1/2 puppy Orijen and 1/2 Acana (all Orijen created soft poos).  I had bought 1 bag of each (medium size) at around 9 months and once she was finally ran out of the previous batch, she was almost 12 months.  I still have several months of food mixed up (in a Vittle Locker).  Once it gets a little lower, I am going to start transitioning her.  This time, though, I will buy smaller bags...she only eats 1-1/4 cups a day...so buying 30lbs of food at a time, which more economical than buying small bags, really isn't a big deal since we don't go through the bags all that often.

THanks everyone-it seems as though I need to go buy some adult food for the Troop dog.
