Wally goes for his first grooming visit today. I have found a place that is by appointment only (they are not put in crates all day) so wish me luck! Thanks to all of you, I am well armed! I will post before and after pictures when he gets home! Here is the current list of DON'TS: shave eyelashes, shave nose, shave head, shave tail (basically dont poodle my doodle) Any other suggestions?

I think they did a great job too, Jeanine.

If Wally is in his coat change...you really do need to stay on top of brushing and combing on a regular basis.

Check out the Grooming Group...and type in Coat Change...and you'll get lots of information about it.

Also...the Les Pooch brushes are really good...and you can read all about them there.

Many people find that having your Doodles coat a little shorter during this time really does help with the matting.

Good Luck...

Jeanine - he looks the same in both pictures so they did a very subtle job. Congratulations!  Ned began matting at 6 months and you DO need a good brush.  We use a Les Pouchs slicker and a steel comb.  You can ask Kemp (a dk member) about the best one for you and then order it through his on-line doodle country store.

OMD! Wally is as cute as can be! Love the little white on his chest.

Super cute!  But.....  my advice is to trim around his eyes a bit more.  I know you love his cute eyelashes, but when a poodle mix can not see clearly, it can lead to temperament issues over time.
