Sometimes on walks we go near the commuter rail station, and Snickers will sit and watch the train go by-absolutely fascinated. Sometimes I also take the train downtown and my husband and Snickers and I will come “pick “ me on the platform, he will sit like a gentleman waiting for me to depart the train again absolutely fascinated.  So last night we are watching TV about 9:00 pm, Snickers snugly tucked into his crate with the blanket over it-and there is a train on with whistles and chugging, and he starts barking-first a quiet half asleep bark and then it gets louder as the train noise continues-it is almost like he is MISSING the train and he is upset, then when the scene changed, he was quiet again and fell back asleep-the ironic thing a few minutes later on the TV there was some barking dogs and not a peep from him!  Do your dogs react to strange noises or images on the tv?  My DH and I were just cracking up!

I am  starting to go crazy with all the doorbells on tv.  My dogs go nuts and think it is our door every time they hear it.  Not only do they have it once, but sometimes two or three times.  I am going nutty with this!!!!!!!!!!!
Yup, doorbells on TV get my guys going too.  They run to the door and then they can't figure out why there's nobody there.
Just the other day, we were watching a show and a big black lab came on it.  It caught Peri's attention (no barking or anything though) and she just sat there and watched in silence for a few minutes.  When the dog went off screen, she got up and left the room.  So funny!

Snickers is just too darling. How sweet of him to wait so nicely for you to get off the train.

Owen does watch tv and doesn't seem to have his viewing limited to animal preferences. I frequently watch HGTV and he is happy to watch that for awhile. One thing that this post made me think of is that Owen is NOT happy about the Halloween decorations showing up on people's lawns and doors! My husband told me about this happening on his morning runs. Last night we went for a walk and Owen was freaked out by the decorations! He even barked at a house with orange lights. He is so observant. These doods are too funny.

Funny about the halloween decor. We were walking last week and went by a house that had added a ghost/mummy coming out of the ground. Peri stopped and barked and acted totally freaked out!!!
Yup! we need protection from that scary stuff!
Luca attacks dogs and animals on TV. He's not too fond of some animated characters either.
Sedona is very alert to sounds on the TV - especially sirens and doorbells (if it's the exact sound as ours).  She's less interested in the sights, but will occasionally zero in on something, dogs, kids, etc.
Oh yes, Deanna, the doorbells on TV send both of my dogs barking to the front of the house! AND they do not need to sound like our doorbell to get that reaction. sigh.
Riley is entranced by the Horse Racing so when I go out I leave the TV's on the Racing channel.
Sadie used to get agitated when I watched Cesar Millan (too many dogs barking in distress/aggression) so I had to stop watching him.
Are you sure it isn't because she doesn't want you to " learn new ideas to try out" Snickerd does not like when Mommy is in Milan mode good thing I usually don't have the patience to keep my calm, assertive energy.
