It shouldn't be a problem. You may find that Wesley doesn't like the salmon formula, but if that turns out to be the case, you can always switch to the chicken formula. You will eventually want to rotate the "flavors" anyway.
I've never seen the size of Fromm's kibble so I really can't advise you. I'd be leary to feed a puppy the regular size kibble myself. Alot of help I am, huh?
Guess you could always put a little warm water on it to soften it for him until he's big enough to eat the adult size kibble....just thinking!
I think your experience was unusual. Salmon (and all fish) is usually really well-tolerated by most dogs. But there are always exceptions, as you unfortunately learned the hard way. Poor Ozzy!
I wasn't aware that there was a big size difference between the different formulas. I think Fromm is pretty good about sending samples, maybe you could email them and ask for a sample.
Hopefully, some of our other FG members who are feeding Fromm will chime in here about how their puppies did with bigger kibble. I do know that one of our very good DK breeders feeds Fromm, and her puppies come home on it.
The Fromm Salmon is small round kibble and the chicken is square (not extremely big), but bigger. A friend of mine said the "bigger" kibble might be difficult for Wesley to eat.
Of course, I came to the experts to ask their opinion :)
