And you could. At least until I add probiotics and Sea Meal and Missing Link supplement. Even then it probably wouldn't kill you. My kids say all the time that the dogs eat better then they do. And the funny thing is that I am not reallly much of a cook. No Rachel Ray here! Except where the dogs are concerned.

We make our own wet food. Kali just loves the stuff (my kitties do too). We also feed a good quality dry food with it so Kali gets everything she needs. She also gets bits of veg and fruit as treats every so often.

Hi Lynne,
I have to thank you for your advice on feeding samantha. I saw a comment somewhere where you use Whole Foods Holistic kibble. I went yesterday to the new Whole Foods in Union (which is incredible, by the way) and purchased a 10 lb bag. Samantha LOVED it! She did not like the Solid Gold Wolf Cub. She aite it only becuase I mixed her Mommy-ccoked dinner with it. I have not weighed her since last week where she topped in at 61 lbs but I know she is leaner becuase her ribs are definitely easier to find. I don't know if she got taller or lost a little weight but whichever it is, is will be healthier.

Adrianne, I am glad things are working out for you. Finding a good kibble is a good thing but don't forget that you should still change it up every other bag or so. The Mommy food is the basis for us, the kibble is the background. I don't rely on one type. I use Innova Evo Small Bites and change with others almost every bag.

I will definitely do that but just curious as to why? Taste, ingredients, boredom, all the above?

All of the above to some extent. But for me it not relying on one food again after what happened to Magic. Changing up also allows them to get other tastes and nurtients, too. Its good for everyone. I am so glad to hear the cooking is going well. I think the more people who do this the better off our dogs will be. Let me know if I can help.
