check to see if there are "same subject matter discussions" already posted and in progress.....Not trying to be the doodle police or anything like that.....Just letting all newbies know that there is so much wonderful information already posted in the forum and you can avoid repeating discussions by typing the subject into the "search discussions" field at the top of the "See All Discussions" page.....: )
I assume you are talking about my post, I thought I did a basic search to see if there was a RECENT discussion about nick names. I was very ready to have a lighter post on this discussion board, I was getting a little overwhelmed with the rescue/rehome/health issues. I don't think it bogged down the discussion.
I agree with Jacquie's general reminder as I think all members would benefit from searching through the Forum archives to get many questions answered.
However, if a discussion is months and months "old" sometimes it feels weird to knock the dust off and it is more fun to just start over. Plus new members may not have been around when it was a 'happening' discussion.
Also some discussions and surveys are worth revisiting with fresh eyes, ears, and typing fingers. I know when I had questions about my nipping Jaws puppy (Rosco) it didn't matter HOW MUCH I read .. it never seemed to answer MY dilemma about MY puppy so I asked a lot of questions.... I want people to have that freedom too.
So to prevent myself from getting super long winded ... *GRINS*... what I'm trying to say is:
I recommend looking at the last 20 discussions (as seen on the Front Page of Doodle Kisses) and then perhaps doing a search on the Forum page (see tabs at the top and our FAQ section for tutorials on how to use the Forum) to see what's been already covered. IF after that you still want to discuss a topic or restart it brand new...go ahead! It's not the end of the world if a topic is rehashed...but I think if I see another NEW discussion on Obama + Doodle I'm gonna usher y'all into an Obama's Doodle Discussion Group! LOL
What?! Obama might be getting a doodle?! I had no idea! I wish someone would have said something. You'd think that would make national news. Maybe I need to start getting my news from more sources than just The Daily Show. Oh, wait. They covered it, too. LOL.
