Vicki's doodle, Gracie died on Sunday. To prevent flooding her inbox (which I hadn't thought about till now) please post your thoughts as responses below. I'm sure they will be appreciated when she has a chance to stop by.
This is what Vicki told me today when I found out: My beloved Gracie died yesterday. We're not sure why or how. It appears as though she died of natural causes somehow. She looked very peaceful as if she layed down for a nap and did not wake up. We have chosen not to have an autopsy. My 22 year old son died three years ago, and after seeing his autopsy pictures, I couldn't stand the thought of my Gracie being disected that way, and it would not bring her back. She was my constant companion and has helped me so much to find some kind of peace over the loss of my son Leonard. I can't imagine life without her and yet I have to.
Vicki's husband recently posted the following on Vicki's page: Im Steve, Vicki's husband, I wish you all could have seen and know the most wonderful doodle we called Gracie. Vicki, our loss is huge but the gift of all the love she gave us is even greater. My tears have been many. You know the two pictures of Gracie behind your monitor? When I look at this one its almost like Gracie is saying 'it'll be o.k. sir' ..love you.
They would like to add a new doodle to their home and are seeking a rescue if possible.
So sorry for you loss. Losing a loving companion leaves such a big hole in our hearts and lives. We are sending our thoughts and prayers to you and your family.
I am sure I have no words that can console you during this period of time. I do know what it is like to lose a pet too soon and I am sorry that you have had to endure so much loss in such a short time frame. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you as you cope with the sadness. Take comfort in the fact that Gracie led a good life with you and your family during her time here on earth.
Vicki..Bocker and I are so sorry for the loss of your best friend. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Just try to get some comfort in knowing that Gracie is playing and happy at the Rainbow Bridge.
I am sitting here with goosebumps on my arms, and tears down my face even though I dont' know you , your family or Gracie, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. AND I truly believe Gracie is in God's arms being comforted. You and your family are in my daily prayers and May god bless you in this time of grief.

PS. if you email me i'll give you the number and/or email of poomixrescue.com or you can go there
Shannon runs it and many times helps people out in situations such as yours with finding another doodle (per your request state above)
Once again, Steve please accept my prayers and sympathies as i cannot imagine what you are going through right now but you're right about Gracie's picture. May you also find the doodle out there tha is waiting for you and your wife.
Gracie's photos (adult) really remind me of a dog named Mimi Mugs. She is an Italiano Spinone who lives in England. I can try to get you a photo if you are interested. Also, I have just started up a retirement hobby that is printing photos of dogs on canvas. Do you have a favorite digital photo that you would like printed up of Gracie?
We were so sorry to hear about your loss. Please know that we are praying for you during this horrible time. May God bless you and your family and may He be with you to help you through. I cry for you.....
Vicki and Steve,
Very sorry to hear about your loss. She looks like such a great dog! Just from a picture, I can tell she was loved very much. Take care.
So sorry to hear about the loss of your dog. I know how you feel. We lost our golden in October that we had for 12 yrs. They are a member of the family.
