Last Winter it was very very cold here with lots of snow.  I have everything I need for Riley, a coat, boots, Mushers Secret.  It's me I'm concerned about.  I have Reynauds so my hands and feet are permanently frozen and I have arthritis in my knees from Hill Walking and now in my hand too.So here's the question for all of you for whom freezing temperatures are the norm.  Can you direct me to a good website where I can get decent thermal underwear and base layer insulating clothing and a warm jacket.  I can find them here but they are horrendously expensive so I just thought some of you guys would know where to go.
Many thanks, Nicky

Try Mountain Equipment Co-op. I've found their prices are a bit cheaper because they are a co-op. They make their own brand of stuff and it is good quality. I think they are Canadian tho, so don't know much about international shipping.

I'm actually a member of that co-op from my time in Vancouver so I may ask my brother who is going next week to go have a look for me.  Thanks for the reminder.

let me tell you about an awesome dog-walking jacket. I walk my doodle about 5 miles a day in the wilderness, the wind blowing, freezing temps...we go no matter what twice a day. I just purchased a Columbia "Omni heat" jacket. It is paper thin, and I doubted the salesman who guaranteed it (owned it) But it has an aluminum lining that reflects your body heat and yet you don't overheat if you're working hard, skiing or snowshoeing. I have several North Face jackets (that are also awesome) but this Columbia jacket is to die for! It is by far the best wind-proof, water-resistant, all around lightweight work out jacket I have ever owned. LOVE IT!!!! I am going to buy one for my sister in law for her dog-walking ventures. Check it out at Cabellas website. $100
