When we just had Cubbie he usually went with us when we went anywhere that allowed dogs.  When we added Ollie to the family, we started leaving them both home unless we went to my parent’s house or a doggie destination (park, walks, etc).  When I have to take one dog to the vet or to training and leave the other dog behind I always feel guilty (it doesn't help that we practically have to sneak out the door and push the other dog back inside).  But I also feel bad  that Cubbie has lost out on some of the little excursions that he used to love.

Every Friday after Thanksgiving, my DH and I always meet up with some of his coworkers to decorate their classrooms (they are teachers) for the holiday season.  We have taken Cubbie with us for the past 2 years.  DH said that it will be too much to take both dogs this year so I am trying to decide if I should leave them both home or just bring Cubbie along like we have in the past.  I would feel bad leaving Ollie behind though.

How do you handle your multiple dogs?  Do you take them on separate outings or always leave them home together?

We have one of those large, soft-sided crates that folds up and down in 1 minute flat.  When the boys go to training - the one whose class isn't going on is in the crate in the same room with a bully stick.  Class change - dog change.  I'd get one and then both dogs can go but only one is out and about at a time.  They both get to go - they both get their time.  Simple.  I could never pick one dog to take and not another - it would be like having a favorite child.

I take my girls with me whenever possible and when both can't go, they stay home together.

I have no problem taking one out at a time. They can each have their turn. :)

I have no problem taking one dog without the other....although they are normally together when we go to most places.  I will sometimes take them out separately for specific training exercises.  I also will take them individually on some of our "fun" outings....they seem to love that one-on-one attention.

thanks!  I really would like to be able to spend some one on one time with them, but seeing the sad little doodle face on the one left behind always pulls at my heart.
