My Nesco Dehydrator came today (fast, just ordered on Monday)...I can't remember who it was that has one but I am looking for a simple way to prepare Daisy's chicken jerky. Too many instructions, don't want to read if I don't have to (besides I just got done preparing for tomorrows feast).
Any help appreciated.

Let me know how you like it--I'm planning on getting a dehydrator too!
Hey Lisa..... my dehydrator instructions said cook the chicken first then put it in the dehydrator. I semi froze chicken breasts then sliced them thin, cooked them in the frying pan in a little water then into the dehydrator for overnight - my doodles love the chicken :)
That is why i was confused, one place says pre-cook the other says just slice 1/4 inch thin and dehydrate. I think I will try a little both ways.
Thanks.
I would cook the chicken first because to dehydrate meat it takes a long time and you don't want the bacteria to grow. The temperature does not get hot enough to kill the bacteria in the dehydrator, mine says dry beef/chicken etc. at 160 and that is not high enough to kill those little buggers that can make us and our doodles sick.
