I give Monty rawhide.  There I said it.  He loves them, they keep him busy for a bit, and I'm convinced its helping to keep his teeth so pearly white.  I do however prefer pig rawhide as it is not as hard, and can be eaten more thoroughly vs beef rawhide. But I'll be damned if I can find good old AMERICAN made pig rawhide.  Whats the problem, heaven knows we have tons of factory farms for pigs, not like they dont exist here in the States.

I've googled till I cant stand it anymore.  If anyone knows where I can buy American or hey, Canadian would work too made pig rawhide, I'd be grateful.

There are tons of sources for American-made pork hide, I'm sure we have links in our discussions here to many of the companies. Try googling "Pork hide" instead of using the word "pig" or rawhide".

Try this company that Donna was looking into:

Thanks!

I posted a discussion on pork hide a couple of weeks also. Dakota is not a big time chewed period but sometimes I need a break from "team sports" and I give him a chew. The manager at the feed store where IU buy Dakota's food said pork hide is healthier and more easily digestible than rawhide. I really can't find any confirmation of this  . . .

I went back to that discussion to see if you had any links to any U.S. made porkhide products there, but there weren't any.

It does make some sense that the porkhide would be more digestible if it's thinner, which it appears to be. Otherwise, I don't know if those claims are true or not.

I'll be going back to the feed store soon and I'll get product names and try to pin the manager down on the better health claims . . .
