Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

After reading Karen & Jack's post, I think I'm probably using this discussion site wrong. . . if so, I'm  sorry. Really, this is the best I can do.  But to everyone who has been so kind about Chervil:  she came home today about noon.  She spent last night at the vet's, too, to make sure she was keeping her medications down (and apparently she was being loved on by his 8 year old daughter!).  She began eating again today, so he felt good about her coming home.  She was up and wagging her tail when I picked her up, and she's eaten well and is snoring soundly right now.  Lots of meds and limitations on what she can do for awhile, but home safe and sound, so now I can finally take a deep breath again.  For those of you who wonder--I would--total cost:  $1,952.88.  Which I actually thought was really good for a big surgery (with two vets in surgery), all the associated costs, and three nights staying with a vet who is pretty fantastic.  xxoo to all of you from both of us!!

Last spring our 10 y/o beagle, Baxter had surgery for the same thing.  He could come to sleep with us but had to go back to the vet's office everyday until he pooped.  It took Baxter 5 days before he finally went.  You are lucky that Chervil got to come home after 3 days.

Yay Baxter--you do things in your own sweet time!  Glad he's well now!

I'm glad he is home safe and sound.  Wish I could find that kind of Vet.....

No kidding, huh?  Big gift basket going to that office soon. . . .

I am so glad that Chervil is home safe and sound and on the mend.

Chervil is doing very well and slowly beginning to heal and get some of her energy back.  One last thanks to everyone for all the well wishes and kindness.  I've felt so much better knowing you all were there, thinking of us.

Hi Linda, I'm new to DK. Would you mind sharing (or re-sharing) what had happened. Thanks.

And it's really fun to be able to join a story once you know it has a happy ending ;)

Melanie, here is Linda's previous discussion about Chervil's surgery:

If you go up to the very top of this discussion, under Linda's name, you will see "View Discussions" next to a little binoculars symbol. If you click that, you can search Linda's previous discussions.

Thanks.
