joey is 8 months old. she used to come running out of her crate in the morning to greet us. these days, she lays in it 30+ minutes and doesn't want to come out. i know she has to pee. i know she wants to say hello to me. she got a tick bite 3 weeks ago. vet says that we have to wait another week to do blood panels. i'm wondering if this is connected with the tick bite or if she's just truely so tired that she doesn't want to get out of bed. granted, we do wake up pretty early.

My guys both have a tough time waking up in the morning.  It takes them quite a while to get going, even though I know they must have to go potty.  I just leave them alone until they're ready.  I'm thinking if it was a reaction to the tick bite you would see some other symptoms.  When Murph had a tick borne disease, he was very sick....lots of symptoms.

My dogs will get up with me and go out to pee, and usually go back to bed.  They generally don't get going much until 8-830a.

Also, my friend who has the sister to my Doodles says that she usually gets up and Penny Pup will stay in bed until 8a or later.  So I think it might be a dog-thing.

That said, I'm glad you are getting her bloodwork done just to make sure that tickbite isn't causing her to be ill.  I always rule out a medical issue before considering anything else whenever I see the Doodles doing something unusual.

Please keep us updated on Joey!

Ruby is 6 months old and she can be lazy in the morning, especially when my husband lets her out. I am the one that feeds her in the morning so she tend to come out easier for me. But, if she does not feel like getting up, she can be stubborn and snooze away. I wouldn't be alarmed.

I hope the tick bite turns out to be OK.

Chester gets us out of bed at 5 am everyday.. I wish he would sleep in.

Don't you just LOVE a dog that sleeps in?

Ironically, I need her up early so that I can walk her, feed her, take her to the dog park, ready myself for work, and get her into a calm state to crate her. AND get to the office in time!

How is Joey today?
