Just wondering I walk Willson every morning before work and today it is 17 out with a positive wind chill of 7 is that too cold, the wind was not blowing at all but he was budging in his walk and he has not done that in a long time.

Any advice ?????? Other than that everything else is great

Have a wonderful Doodle Day

Sue- not sure what "budging in his walk" means ?
Jack gets walked twice a day except in the bitterest cold (below zero) weather, and even then I do take him for occasional very brief (pee-and-go) walks. He doesn't have a very thick, wooly coat, either. I think the only danger is to the pads of their feet on frozen pavement, but we haven't had any problems thus far.
Hi yea im from Green bay WI and the other morning is was very cold I should not of gone he just wanted to stay in one place, but yesterday I forgot to stop at a corner and Willson remeinded me, today he did a little better is is 22 above zero

He was just being stubborn and not wanting to walk so I call it budging not moving I guess that is not a great word to use sorry about that .
Budging to me is sitting down and not wanting to go but the weather was 17 above zero today its 22 and he did alot better but I do think shorter walks will be the answer
Do you mean 17 below zero? Where do you live!?
Hi Sue. My dogs love to play outside in the cold and snow. I bring them inside when one of the dogs holds a foot off the ground so he is only standing on three. Three legs means it's too cold.
That's a great method! I'm using it now. :-) Our dogs LOOOOVE to play outside in the cold too. But they are not shy about barking to let us know they want to come inside, either. So either way, they bark to be let in or they stand on three legs... too cold.
Hey Clark. Maybe when the dogs bark they are asking you to throw them a few pairs of boots. I have heard your doodles are that smart.
I think most dogs would opt for a walk in ANY weather, so it is really up to you. I myself am a not a lover of walks in the very cold, so we will be limiting our walks.
Hi Tamara
I know you are right that our dogs opt for any weather but it is me i don't like the cold and today it is very windy I think after dinner I will just let him run in the back for a while
Never thought of the garage, that is a neat idea. The next time it rains and she is beggin' for fetch, I will give it a try:)
If you do let them play in the garage, make sure there is no antifreeze around- just a small amount of antifreeze will kill a large dog before you can get them to the vet, and it is very attractive to them...tastes sweet, supposedly. I am always afraid to let Jack hang around in my garage because of all the auto & garden products (slug bait, etc.) stored there.
Excellent and important point, Karen.
