Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Sometimes things are so funny and unexpected that you just have to share.
A few days ago my DH started a converstion with "I have to tell you what I did today and I really hope no one was watching". I was almost afraid to hear what he was going to say next. The story continued like this, " While I was at the golf course today walking with Quincy he was having problems with snowballs stuck to his paws. He had one that was really bothering him and he would stop every few steps and try to chew it off. Quincy couldn't seem to get rid of it so I tried to pick it off for him. I tried to get it off with my fingers but I couldn't get it either, so I took a quick look to make sure no one was watching and then I picked up his paw and chewed it off myself". OMD, I couldn't quite believe he had just said that, I found myself practically falling on the floor from laughing. When I finally stopped laughing I said " You know I am going to write a blog about this because it is just too funny to keep to myself". He just smiled, I think he already knew when he told me that his secret wasn't going to be so secret anymore.
Do you have funny stories of things that you have done for your doodles that would make other people say, "I can't believe you did that? If so please share your stories here, I promise not to tell, your secret is safe with me. :>)

I will not be picking up your deposit! LOL
ROTFL, Dori!!!
Love this! I'm a little surprised it worked though? Your DH is clever and a good doodle dad.
What a great doodle DAD!!
Hahahaha! That's hilarious!
I think the worst thing that I did in public for my Sunny was when she picked up something off the sidewalk when we were out walking around and was chewing it. I immediately stopped, kneeled and pried it out of her mouth (it was stuck to the roof of her mouth) with my bare fingers. Then I couldn't figure out what it was, so without thinking about it, I lifted it up to my face and SMELLED it. Ha! Then I realized how ridiculous that had to look, threw the nasty thing away and kept walking while wiping my hand on my pants.
So many funny stories here I'm having a great giggle. Here goes another funny potty story. When my eldest daughter was being potty trained and out of diapers I also had a GS puppy named Chris. So I was training Chris to go outside and Jess to ask for the toilet. It was Summer time which makes both of those jobs easier and one day I turned around to see Jess going out to the garden and doing a poop in the grass! Poor child got confused and thought she had to do it outside like her puppy sister!!!!!
Eating snowballs from paws? I have one great image in my head right now as well as all of you who have felt to see if puppies have actually done weewee. I can really relate to that because Riley sometimes fakes doing a wee! this used to require undercarriage checks.....when he was small.
Oh Nicky! This is a wedding story for sure! Love it :)
Thanks everyone! Can't stop laughing!
Okay, I know I have told it before, but I will tell it again. I just watched the show "I Cloned My Pet" on television, and it reminds me of a favorite story of mine that happened when Hondo was a puppy. He was a brown (rather scraggley) labradoodle puppy and we had an elegant brown standard poodle at the same time. Bruno (the poodle) and Hondo (the LD) and I would go for walks on the trails out at Ft. Ord. People would ask about Hondo all the time and that was about eight years ago when LD were not so common. Well, I guess I got tired of answering questions and one day I was feeling pretty perky, so when a man we encountered on the trail asked me about Hondo I told him: "Well, we just loved this poodle so much we wanted to clone him. The clone didn't turn out so good, but we love him anyway." The man just shook his head and walked away. Maybe he will think a little more about it now that clones have become more popular.
I liked when the man who was cloning his dog said that he would have liked his girlfriend to be the surrogate for his puppy. I wonder if it will ever get around to that. Definitely not here, but maybe in S. Korea where most of the puppies are being cloned now.
I love this story Lynda! I have read it before but it still makes me laugh!
Not a story, but just a confession comment... DH complained that I kiss Tori more than him lately... okaaaay - so what's the problem??? LOL
Here's one: I crawl around on the floor on all fours playing tug of war with Tori and one of her toys - yup - ME the "germ-freak" (my sister's would die if they knew) - I actually bite the toy and sometimes even her ears! (Well, I always used to bite my kid's naked butts too! LOL)
