Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
A couple of weeks before people are scheduled to pick up their darling doodle, I send out a "puppy pick up packet" It has everything from crate training to what to bring with you when you take your pup home for the first time. Included in that list is towels, wet wipes, paper towels, and plastic bags to deposit the throwup etc that you may well encounter on the way home
After a long day it was finally time to drive the 75 mile trip to get my new moyen poodle puppy. I hop in the car and off I go without a single thing from my list.
Lucky for me the breeder asked and was nice enough to supply with me with the needed supplies. Puppy did great for 73 miles. It was the last three miles of winding mountain roads that did the trick.
Thank you Liz, for the towels.
Now, all I need is a name for this boy. Something to go with his kennel name of music box.
Anyone have any suggestions and let hear your own "first ride home" stories.

In total, Tanner's first car ride was almost 4 hours long. My sister and I met half way between our schools so I could get him. We loaded him into the car and he sat on the passenger seat for a while. Eventually he made his way to the trunk of my jeep and dove head first into his food bag and started chowing down! I had to pull over and reseal everything so he couldn't get into it anymore. We made it back safely without anymore craziness.
You could name him August, like the movie August Rush. It's a great movie if you haven't seen it!
