She is 8 weeks old. Anyone have any advice on how to make the first couple days go easy?

My last puppy was 9 years ago and my memory of the first week was of me having to sleep on the couch with him because if not he cried all night long.  I am hoping to have her in the cage at night right away but scared she will cry to loud and keep everyone awake. The breeder took her from mom at 6 weeks but put her with 2 sisters until 2 nights ago she said she would put her in a cage alone but she will be in a room with other puppies.

Any other tips on how to get a good start to potty training?  I am going to try the bell method to teach her to ring the bell but have never done it before any tips?

Thought I would update our progress.
Puppy ended up having gastronomic problems and 2 vet trips and some meds later the accidents have slowed way down and she is doing really good with going outside.
I started caging her for a couple hours here and there though the day to get her use to her cage and proud to say that last night she spent the whole night in her cage (besides the 2 potty breaks) she did really great and only fussed for about 5-8 minutes each time i put her in. I'm praying it was not a fluke and we are on a great path here.

Thanks for all the support!

Next step is to work on the bitting and chewing on us and furniture.

Thanks for the update.....you are definitely making great progress!

Hi Lindsay....this puppyhood...:)  Glad to hear she's doing better.  We use the bell too....a couple times she's actually nudged it, usually just sits at the door staring at us though.  But I make sure to help her nudge it before we go out!  She was born mid Oct. so about 3 1/2 months now.  Feels like she's been with us forever and can't imagine not having her at this point!  Wishing you the best!  Kim
