I had the scare of my life today. The "boys" were in the back yard chasing each other around. I glanced out the window nad saw Nelson prancing (lierally) on top of the above ground pool cover. The cover was pulled in on one side from his bouncing.
We have a deck on the pool with a locked gate. I have no idea how he got up there. I guess I have to keep watch and try to figure out how he got up there. Any suggestions?

I never put anything past my doodles...... As someone said in a earlier post.. "if inspired" !!. Even though my yard is completely fenced in AND I have a electronic fence around my pond and the back yard (double protection-LOL) I still check on them every 5-10 minutes or so. I am such a worry-wort when it comes to my doodles !!!!
Our Springer has separation anxiety and climbs over anything (even when laid up with his CCL surgery) to get nearer to his humans. Clancy, our big galoot (only 19" tall but 64 pounds) can jump the almost 4 foot wall to get onto our hill. It is amazing sometimes what they can do, as someone else posted, when inspired. I am so glad that you saw this because you will be able to figure out a solution and prevent any accidents.
I am so glad that you 'caught' how he was doing this. It sounds like you are going to be able to remove this as a danger.
That is one ingenious doodle, glad you found out his method. Bouncing on top of the pool cover, maybe he was trying to tell you he wants a trampoline.
