Someone told me the Kirkland Brand Dog Food at Costco has good reviews? Does anyone know about this Dog food??

It's not one of our recommended foods. If you give us a specific formula, we can do an analysis of the ingredients. It's just an okay food. The source of the ingredients is not reliable, though.

It got good reviews where? Dog food ratings sites are often out of date or don't consider the source of the ingredients. And of course, people's opinions are just that. You will find good reviews for Beneful, lol.

That review is from 2008. (I also got a message from Norton that an attempt to attack my computer was blocked when I clicked the link, so I'm not going back there, lol.) It's very possible that they did stop using menadione, a lot of not-so-great companies (like Nutro) have stopped using it in the past year or too. I'm glad they are finally getting wise to consumer concerns. The ingredients have probably changed in other ways, too.

But yes, I am concerned about the source of the ingredients in any "private label"  food you would buy from a warehouse club.

"Private Label" products are generic products that are massed produced and then labelled with a particular store's brand. An example of that would be the house brand eye shadows they sell in small beauty salons and boutiques; one company makes them all and then labels them for whichever store or company orders them, but they are all the same, and probably the same as the ones with the Ulta brand, too.
